Another model to look out for in the second hand IWC watches listings is the Portugieser Chronograph. This has been a sought-after timepiece since 1998. When it was released it was the first Portugieser watch that allow you to both stop time and read the time as well. With a 40.9mm diameter a Portugieser is ideal for anybody with a slender wrist, or anybody who wants an understated but exquisite design. The clearly organized dial features an encircling precision scale, recessed totalizers, embossed Arabic numerals and feuille hands for hours and minutes. On the stainless-steel version, there is a silver-plated dial, blue hands and appliqués that perfectly complement the dark blue of the alligator leather strap.

Another stand-out piece in the IWC roster is the Portofino Automatic. This beautiful piece comprises a stunning black alligator leather strap, gold hands set on a silver-plated dial. A rare piece that would be a superb find in any second hand watch search is the version of the Portofino Automatic with a Milanaise mesh bracelet of stainless steel. This is a piece with a slim profile and a sun-pattern finish that gives off an appearance of real luxury.
